Unbeaten Forks crushes UV-E

Unbeaten Chenango Forks amassed 639 rushing yards in defeating Unadilla Valley-Edmeston 67-15 on Saturday in Section 4 Conference football.
Forks (8-0) held a 653-153 edge in total yards, with UV-E gaining 61 on the ground.
Jimmy Miller led the way for Chenango Forks with 13 rushes for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Lamond, who started at tailback in place of Tyler Lusht, ran for 122 yards on only five carries and scored two touchdowns. Lusht was on limited duty because of a high ankle sprain.
Casey LaNave added two more scores, rushing five times for 130 yards.
The team rushing total was a school record, head coach Dave Hogan said. The Blue Devils ran 48 times and scored 10 touchdowns.
Miller scored two first-quarter touchdowns and LaNave scored on a 17-yard run early in the second. Ryan Lusht had a 40-yard scamper for another score to make it 28-0. He finished with 97 yards on seven carries.
Brandon Hoffman got UV-E on the board before halftime with a 5-yard pass to Kodi Hoffman.
Chenango Forks scored 26 more points in the third quarter on four rushing touchdowns, two by Lamond, including a 66-yarder. LaNave added a 65-yard scoring run to open the second half.
The Blue Devils tacked on two more scoring runs in the fourth, with Alec Fleicher scoring on a 3-yard run, and Ethan Cook closing out the scoring with a 33-yard run.
Brandon Miles scored for U-VE (3-4) on a 21-yard run.
Chenango Forks will face Trumansburg Saturday in a Section 4 playoff game at Alumni Stadium in Binghamton.

CHENANGO FORKS – Chenango Forks clinched a Section IV, Division V record rushing for a whopping 636 yards against UV-Edmeston Saturday afternoon.

Three Blue Devils rushers eclipsed the 100-yard barrier. Jimmy Miller had his third straight game with at least three rushing TDs. He had the opening two scores in the first stanza scoring from seven and 15 yards out, then added a 14-yard scoring run as part of Forks’ 26-point third quarter to finish with 133 yards.

Quarterback Casey Lanave rushed for 130 yards and two scores, and Ryan Lamond had 122 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

UV-E made it 28-7 at halftime when Kody Homann pulled in a five-yard TD pass from Brandon Miles. The Storm (4-4) didn’t score again until the fourth quarter when Miles hit pay dirt on a 21-yard scramble.

UV-E will host Sherburne-Earlville on Friday in its season finale.
