Fifty years ago this autumn...

On a crisp early autumn Saturday afternoon the 1967 Blue Devils christened their then brand new field, the present Blue Devil Stadium, with a 13-0 victory over the fellow Susquenango League school Sidney Warriors.

It was the first school year in the shiny new building on Gordon Drive. The new building was home to the 7th thru 12 grades, while K thru 6 were split bewteeen the old school in the Forks and the then five or so year-old John R Harshaw school buidling next door on Patch Road.

Their second home game, at night via rented lights, was also a shutout against the Walton Warriors, 20-0

The third home game was against the Black Knights of Windsor. At that time mind you, Chenango Forks had never beaten Windsor in a varsity football game, being something like 0-12-2 going in. It was a hard-fought game, with CF and Windsor knotted at 13 at the scoreboard's final horn.

The fourth home game ended the Susquenango League season with a 26-14 victory over Delhi, giving the Blue Devils a respectable 5-1-1 league record.
