Forks 48, Unatego 7: Chenango Forks jumped out to a 34-0 halftime lead and cruised past Division V host Unatego.

Senior brothers Ryan Lusht and Tyler Lusht each had a touchdown run and Derek Foster caught a 20-yard TD pass from Casey LaNave to give the Blue Devils (4-0, 1-0 Division V) a 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Ryan Lamond and Jim Miller also had scoring runs in the second quarter to help the undefeated visitors jump out to a huge lead.

Ryan Lusht finished with 108 rushing yards and Lamond had 83 rushing yards and two touchdowns to lead Chenango Forks, which out rushed Unatego, 405-37. The Blue Devils finished with 466 yards of offense.

"It was a great night for us," Chenango Forks coach Dave Hogan said. "Anytime you can score a lot of points like we did in the first half it gives you some flexibility to try some different things. We made a commitment to try some things we've been working on in practice and our kids really made some nice passes and converted some good runs. I'm very happy with how our season has started."

Dustin VanWhy had 137 passing yards to lead Unatego (0-4, 0-1).

Ryan Lusht ran for a game-high 109 yards and quarterback Casey LaNave contributed 104 rushing yards for the defending Section Four Class C champions.

"They are like they always are," first-year Unatego coach Frank Microni said of the Blue Devils. "They're very well-coached and they have 40 guys. They're like a machine right now. ... I'm proud of our guys. We didn't give up."

The Spartans (0-4, 0-1) averted the shutout when Tanner Carley scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter. Will May's extra point capped the scoring.

Senior Dustin VanWhy made his first start at quarterback for Unatego and completed 10 of 23 passes for 142 yards. Alex Walley caught two passes for a game-high 70 yards.
