Chenango Forks runs past Unatego
Staff report - Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin

Chenango Forks held a second consecutive opponent without a touchdown and divided the rushing responsibilities among 10 players in a 44-3 romp past visiting Unatego on Saturday in Division V of the Section 4 Football Conference.

It was a 28-0 halftime spread, an 11-yard Rickey Bronson-to-Dan Grady scoring pass fit in among rushing touchdowns by Tyler Lusht, Jimmy Miller and D.J. Smith.

Lusht's 1-yard run capped a 65-yard, game-opening drive, and Forks followed by recovering a loose football on the ensuing kickoff-- setting up Miller's 5-yard TD rush.

Forks defensive tackle Justin Flannery opened second-half scoring with an 11-yard sack for a safety, and Miller's second rushing TD -- to go with Grady's point-after kick -- made it 37-0 through three quarters.

Forks is 2-0 overall and Unatego 0-2 overall.

"Our interior line played very, very well," Forks coach David Hogan said of tackles Flannery and Andy Lewis, and nose man Jake DuBois. "They didn't make many tackles, but they sure did their jobs and stuffed things up. And (inside linebacker) Jordan Barnett was all over the place."

Unatego's Will May kicked a 25-yard field goal.

Ahead for the Blue Devils is a home game Saturday against Sidney.
